1. Conditions of Participation
1.1 Age of participation
  • Ultra Louzantrail - over 18 years of age *;
  • Louzantrail - over 18 years of age *;
  • Short Louzantrail - over 16 years of age *;
  • Louzantrail XS – maiores de 14 anos de idade*;

* made up to the day before the date of the race.

1.2 Registrations

The pre-registration / registration in the Louzantrail assumes the full acceptance of the rules established here.

Physical conditions:

  • The athlete must be aware of the specific difficulties of the trailrunnig and of the positive and negative slope of the same and of being adequately prepared physically and mentally;
  • O atleta deve ter consciência prévia da capacidade real de autonomia exigida em montanha, de forma a ser capaz de gerir os problemas que derivam deste tipo de prova;
  • To be able to face adverse environmental and climatic conditions (high temperatures, low humidity, etc.) without external help;
  • Know how to manage physical and mental problems resulting from extreme fatigue, digestive problems, muscle and joint pain, minor injuries, etc.
1.3 External aid

No external assistance will be allowed outside the places defined by the organization, so the athlete must be aware of his physical condition and know how to manage the problems that may arise for a mountain activity, safely.

The organization defines specific areas for assistance to athletes by member responsible for the team.

In these areas, the athlete is allowed to be able to receive food and change equipment. The athlete is required to keep the required gear.

The members of the support teams cannot access the athletes' supply areas, nor can they request any type of supply.

1.4 Bib

The athlete's bib is personal and non-transferable and must be placed in front of the body, at chest height and always visible.

In case of withdrawal, disqualification or time bar the athlete is obliged to hand over the chip, being discharged and appearing in the DNF classification.

1.5 Sports conduct

The athlete during the entire race must adopt a dignified behavior, refraining in particular from resorting to offensive language, verbal or physical aggression.

If the infractions described above occur, they will be subject to a penalty, namely:

  • Warning;
  • Disqualification;
  • Expulsion and consequent prohibition of registration in subsequent events (for a period of two years);
  • If the offensive language is carried out on social networks, blogs or related pages of Louzantrail, it will be punished with the prohibition of registration in the event and / or in subsequent events organized by the Trail Running section of Montanha Clube (for a minimum period of two years).

2. Race
2.1 Race

Montanha Clube, Secção de Trail Running, é a entidade organizadora do evento Louzantrail, que decorrerá nos dias 23, 24 e 25 de Abril de 2021 na Vila da Lousã, independentemente das condições climatéricas do dia, desde que a organização entenda que estas não ofereçam riscos aos participantes.

The organization permanently monitors the evolution of weather conditions and may suspend and / or cancel the race at any time, if it so wishes.

This edition of Louzantrail will consist of 4 competitive events.

ULTRA LOUZANTRAIL

Course with about 43 km and approximately 3000 meters of positive difference.

LOUZANTRAIL GTNS

Course with about 30 km and approximately 2000 meters of positive difference.

LOUZANTRAIL CURTO

Course of about 18 km and approximately 1200 meters of positive elevation.

LOUZANTRAIL XS

Course of about 11 km and approximately 850 meters of positive difference. 

The organization reserves the right to change the distances and the gap if it so chooses, with the change, in the case of the gap, never exceeding 10%.

2.3 Distance / Altimetry / Categorization of Degree of Difficulties ATRP
2.4 Description of routes

The Louzantrail routes consist of passing through the historic area of ​​Lousã, old paths used by the people of the villages, "levadas", forest roads, streams, etc.

The races are not closed. Participants must take into account the fact that there may be vehicles, animals, people, bicycles circulating in parts of the race.

Being an open event, participants must comply with the traffic rules in towns and roads for public use, as well as respect agricultural areas and private properties, under penalty of having to assume potential damages and compensation resulting from their non-compliance.

There will be alternative routes to deal with any unforeseen situation outside the organization.

The organization reserves the right to change the route and position of the checkpoints or supply stations at any time, without prior notice.

2.5 Time limits / Hourly barrier

To avoid passing through more sensitive areas from the point of view of security, the following transit times are established:

To continue in the race, athletes must leave the checkpoint before it closes. Otherwise, the bus will be made, which implies handing the Chip over to the organization. If the athlete decides to continue the course it will be his own responsibility and in complete autonomy.

2.6 Time tracking methodology

An electronic time control system will be used by means of a chip placed on the bib.

2.7 Checkpoints

The marking of the course is the responsibility of the organization, and the athlete must respect it throughout the race, being expressly prohibited to choose shortcuts.

Along the route there will be duly marked control points. Athletes will have to stop in order to register the control of their bib, as well as respect the order of arrival at the checkpoint. In these same checkpoints, another electronic control system may be placed on the athletes.

2.8 Supply locations

The event's races are semi-autonomous, with the athlete having to be accompanied by what he deems necessary to be able to complete the races. The locations foreseen for refueling may change in location or be removed without notice. If the weather conditions justify it, information signs will be placed in places with natural water points.

2.9 Mandatory Gear/ Gear check

If the weather conditions justify it, the mandatory material may be reformulated. In this case, it will be informed to the athletes through the official media, at least 48 hours before the start of the race.

2.10 Penalties / Disqualifications
2.11 Responsibilities towards the athlete

The participant willingly assumes the risks and their consequences arising from participating in the event, whether they are moral, physical, material or of any nature.

Participants registered in Louzantrail agree to participate voluntarily and under their own responsibility in the competition. Therefore, they agree not to claim or demand from the organization, employees, authorities, sponsors and other participants, of any responsibility towards them and their heirs, in everything that exceeds the coverage of their responsibilities and that of their employees and participants.

2.12 Sports Insurance

The organization contracts mandatory insurance by law (personal accidents and civil liability) in accordance with Decree-Law 10/2009 of march, 12. The payment of the deductible in the event of an accident is the sole responsibility of the athletes.

Any accident or incident that occurs during the course is the responsibility of the participants, in everything that exceeds the risk covered by the insurance.

The organization will not incur claims expenses, which it was not aware of in time to activate the insurance.

2.14 Suspension and / or cancellation of races

If the climatic and / or environmental conditions are extreme (eg, forest fire, storms, cyclones, etc.) the match can be delayed by a maximum of two hours, after which the race is canceled.

They can also be suspended and / or canceled by decision of official entities such as Civil Protection, GNR, MAI, DGS, etc.

Taking into account the situation resulting from COVID-19, if the event is canceled by the Health Authority by the deadline for registration, the athlete can choose to:

  • 75% refund of registration fee
  • Automatic registration for the 2022 edition

You can also suspend, reduce or neutralize the evidence, the factors mentioned above.

In any of the situations described there will in no case be any right to a refund.

3. Registration
3.1 Registration process

The registration of either pre-registration or registration, depending on the test and the type of registration process, must be done through the specific form that will be available on the website http://louzantrail.com/registrations.html.

Other pre-registration and / or registration methods will not be accepted.

The registration in the tests implies the implicit acceptance of the present regulation.

The withdrawal of the bib depends on the display of the citizen card or equivalent document (passport, residence card, etc.) and declaration of responsibility.

The athlete now accepts without any type of restriction health screening methods to be able to participate in LOUZANTRAIL, namely temperature control in control 0. As well as any medical examination or test that may be required by the Health Authority.

Medical examination and testing are excluded from the registration, being the athlete's responsibility.

In the event that, if there is a divergence in the registration data with the citizen card data, the organization reserves the right not to allow the athlete to participate in the event. In this case, when providing false information on the part of the athlete, the organization will not refund the amount paid on registration.

Issuance of invoices for registration must be requested at the time of registration on the respective platform. Invoices are not issued later and / or otherwise.

3.2 Pre-registration method

This edition of LOUZANTRAIL will be through pre-registration throughout the registration period.

On March 1, the instructions to validate the pre-registration through the respective payment will be sent in order of registration. When they do not validate the pre-registration, they automatically lose their place. The registration fee will refer to the pre-registration date.

3.3 Registration fees and periods

3rd Phase: from 16 March 2021 to 31 March 2021;

 Athletes competing for the ADAC Short Trail Circuit have a € 1.5 discount on the Louzantrail Short.

Until February 15, 2021 we will give priority to registrations for members of the Portuguese Athletics Federation through ADAC in Louzantrail Curto.

The organization reserves the right to reserve and / or to exceed the limit number of places to meet its commitments to elite athletes (men with a score greater than 780 points and women with a score greater than 650 ITRA points), guests of the organization and to the official sponsors of the event.

The organization also reserves the right to adjust the number of places for security reasons or for any other reason that may affect the smooth running of the event. All changes considered relevant will be announced in advance on the official website and social networks.

An athlete who makes a false statement will automatically be canceled without a refund.

3.4 Change

The organization allows changes to registrations until March 31, 2021 by paying a fee of € 15, and the registered athlete must send an email to info@louzantrail.com with the data to effect the exchange and proof of payment of the Change Fee.

Changes to duly validated registrations will only be possible, not to pre-registrations.

3.5 Return of registration fee

In the event of withdrawal after registration, the organization does not refund the registration fee, except in the following cases:

  • Motivo de lesão ou doença com a apresentação de atestado médico devolve-se 75% do valor de inscrição até ao dia 1 de Março de 2021.
  • Reason for injury or illness with the presentation of a medical certificate, 50% of the registration fee will be refunded until March 31, 2021. From this date, no amount will be refunded.

The athlete must send an email with his registration data, medical certificate and IBAN to info@louzantrail.com so that the organization can proceed with the respective refund if there is a right to it.

3.6 Included with the inscription

The registration fee includes:

  • Bib;
  • Award Finisher;
  • Personal Accident Insurance;
  • Search and Rescue team in remote and difficult to access areas;
  • Assistance in Advanced Medical Post (Doctor and nursing team);
3.7 Services available

The organization provides athletes with transportation until arrival in case of injury, subject to the capacity of the transport vehicles.

In case of need, a check-up by the medical team available at the Advanced Medical Center that will be in the arrival area.

4. Awards

Nave Exposições da Lousã – Rua General Humberto Delgado

Awards will only be awarded for general and team podiums and immediately after the podium closes.

Due to Public Health restrictions there will be no prizes for the tiers.

4.1 Definition of Categories

In the competitive events, the first 3 classified in the classification by Team (male / female), individual General (male / female) and by step will be awarded.

The classification of the teams will be obtained by the sum of the positions of the general classification of the first 3 athletes of the team, ordered in ascending order. The tiebreaker criterion of the teams will be the sum of the 3 best times will be the method for the tiebreaker.

Athletes who complete the competitive events will receive a prize of Finisher.

The prizes will be delivered on the day of the event. Whoever does not pick them up on that day, the organization will not send by mail.

The tiers of the events will be in particular as follows:

Classification by steps will be considered the age that the athlete will have on October 31 of the current competitive season.

5. Image transfer and data processing
5.1 Provision of Image

Louzantrail participants give the Organization full rights to use the image and voice free of charge, authorizing its reproduction, editing and publication, in any medium (paper or digital), and integrated into any other material (photography, drawing, illustration, painting, video, animation, etc.), known or that exists, to:

  • Promotion on the event's website (website);
  • Promotion on social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, others);
  • Exhibition in physical or digital format (exhibitions, others);
  • Promotion in newsletters, brochures, flyers; etc.

In accordance with Article 7 (3) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, the data subject may withdraw his / her written consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent does not compromise the lawfulness of the treatment carried out until that date.

5.2 Data Processing

Participants confirm their consent for the Organization to process their personal data for the purpose of managing registration for the event.

Personal data will be shared with insurance companies, federations, partners and sports organizations, so that participants can participate in the various competitions.

Personal data will be kept for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it is processed.

Under the terms of the General Data Protection Regulation, participants have the following rights, when applicable: limitation of processing, consultation, access, information, rectification, updating and / or deletion of data, right of opposition, right forgetfulness, right to portability of personal data and right to complain to a supervisory authority.

6. Information
6.1 Eco-Responsibility

Do not abandon trash in nature, use the containers to deposit them, respect the flora and fauna, strictly follow the marked path without using shortcuts.

The organization will use whenever possible reusable or recyclable material and will proceed to selective collection.

The cleaning of the route will start immediately after the passage of the last corridor.

Communication on paper will be reduced to a minimum, favoring electronic support.   

6.2 Services not available

Due to the contingencies imposed by COVID-19, baths, hard soil and massages will not be available.

6.3 Missing Cases

The filling and sending of the Registration Form for the Louzantrail events implies that the athlete who enrolls, becomes aware and accepts without any reservations the present Regulation.

Omissions in this regulation will be resolved by the Trial Jury, whose decisions will not be appealed.

6.4 Complaints

To make a complaint, for any action verified during the course of the Louzantrail, it must be made in writing and delivered to the organization on the day of the event. The complaint will be analyzed and a decision will be made within 3 working days of which it will not be liable to complain.
