The MONTANHA CLUBE
separador

Montanha Clube presents itself as a reference club in Portugal, in the organization of sporting events/competitions.
It is a non-profit club that was born in 1990 by João Bandeira, João Lopes and Pedro Barradas, all of them with a passion for off-road motorcycles.
Desde logo, este Clube ficou marcado pelo lançamento de inovadores eventos, onde a preocupação era de proporcionar aos atletas emoções diferentes e colocar a adrenalina ao máximo.
After more than two decades, and a huge evolution in nature sports, even with the emergence of new modalities, the club continues to make a difference and carry out innovative and even unprecedented challenges in the world.
With Serra da Lousã as “our sports facility”, Montanha Clube promotes a varied set of emotions for everyone who participates in its activities. Associated with the sporting emotions typical of the activities it develops, whether in terms of competition or leisure, Montanha Clube over time, has demonstrated a concern for boosting tourism in the territory where it operates.
In recent years, Montanha Clube has brought thousands of people to Lousã, including athletes, companions and the media, who have enjoyed Vila da Lousã, thus also getting to know the customs, traditions and gastronomy of the people of Lousã, contributing in a very significant way for local tourism.

THE REGION
separador

In terms of the physical bases of the territory and when someone refers to the Municipality of Lousã, an idea that stands out immediately is the fact that it is a mountainous sector with great natural wealth.
This highlights the fact that the main physical features of the Municipality reflect, in an almost direct way, the major structural lines that have long defined the morphology of its territory, and that have influenced human occupation in the region, throughout the centuries. Tourism strongly contributes to the development of the Municipality with a strong flow of visitors, whether considering the Serra da Lousã and the Schist Villages, or the rich and varied existing historical/built and natural heritage.

SAFETY
EACH ATHLETE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY

Each athlete is responsible for their own safety. In the mountains, autonomy is the basis and priority over everything. Eat and drink regularly. Be aware of: nausea, difficulty urinating, blood in the urine, tachycardia, hypothermia or hyperthermia. If you do not feel physically or mentally fit to continue, call the number on your bib or 112. Please note that even if the organization has a well-structured plan to help ensure the safety of athletes, Various mountain situations can cause help to take longer than expected. But we remember that the race is semi-sufficiency, with the athlete having to ensure that he carries with him everything necessary to guarantee its completion. All mandatory material, as well as the recommended material for Louzantrail, is designed for your safety. Everything is useful. In the mountains, weather conditions can change quickly and are almost always unpredictable. And the lack of a recommended or mandatory item, in a given situation, could make a difference.
